Neurosurgeon: Everything looks good, pain should stop by July/August when I see him again. We may repeat MRIs once a year from this point out. Cleared of restrictions "as I feel fit" (WTH does that mean?). Showed me MRIs in great resolution and explained how things were and are...pretty cool! Said to expect fatigue, especially "what mom with 5 kids isn't?" (I guess he didn't understand I didn't have this much fatigue before surgery). He thinks I may have overdone it during my initial recuperation period and that is why recovery is going so slowly.
Endo/Bloodwork: Cortisol came by 15.5. Dr wanted it over 10, so he feels all is good. I emailed and asked him if sleep deprivation and stress would adversely affect the results (read that in the health encyclopedia that is attached to my lab results)..and the fatigure is fierce for me right now...we'll see what he says but I figure it'll all be good...I don't have to see him til Dec 2010 or Jan 2011.
Vision: since it's now proven my vision issues are not related to the tumor, I am now going back to the eye dr to see if they can figure what it is or if it's related to the pigmentation dispersion syndrome (usually progresses into early glaucoma)...hoping I can have that appt accomplished by the end of next week.
Driving: well with the vision issues I've not been driving although the dr has released me to do so (not the eye dr, just the neurosurgeon). I did drive the 5 mins to get my blood draw today and it gave me a massive headache trying to focus that long and move my head at the same time, so I am sticking with a self-imposed driving restriction.
SO all in all it was a good day!! Day One DOWN! Feeling good, exhausted, but good...Made it through fairly stress free...even took some time to play outside with my boys...It was such a nice day here we didn't even need jackets!!
